Have You Been Preparing For Your Fantasy Football Draft?

To answer the question of this post, I’ll tell you that I have been preparing for my fantasy football draft, sort of. I can’t lie,
all of this lockout chatter and court room posturing has had me focused on NBA playoff basketball, boxing, and an occasional New York Mets game (yes, there are still some Mets fans alive and kicking).
To be fair, I usually do not purchase my first fantasy magazine until early July. But I usually would have already done my own post-NFL Draft analysis of potential rookie sleeper picks as well as some “studying” of my opponents’ rosters (my favorite league is of the “keeper” variety, so speculation on which players your peers may retain is critical).
Unfortunately, I’ve been suffering from NFL lockout blues, and my preparation has been sorely lacking, compared to prior years. If my many fantasy football opponents are reading this, I am sure they are either 1) thinking that none of my preparation (or lack thereof) matters to anything that they do or 2) happy to know that one of their chief rivals is slipping.
The truth is: I’m behind in my preparation but not that far behind. I am hopeful the NFL owners and players dole out some good news regarding the lockout at some point this month. Whether they do or not, you can expect me to single-handedly boost the Web site traffic to CBS Sportsline.com, ESPN.com and NFL.com very shortly.
